Some of us are looking to get an Intel Knights Landing based system to advance prime95 and other project development for future architectures, including AVX -512.
We have a GoFundMe setup at https://www.gofundme.com/KNL4NumberTheory and would appreciate anyone that wants to contribute! I will personally match whatever amount we can raise to help push development forward. |

I would like all of my $ to go to the project, so David, PM me your address so I can get the check out. (GP2 notes that GoFundMe allows 'personal' projects to list such offline contributions, so you can add those to the page once the checks clear.) |

I put it online because it was more convenient for me, from this corner of the world. Last fiddled with by LaurV on 2016-09-03 at 09:27 Reason: s/will/may/ After reading the FAQ, it is not clear if the 8% are deducted if only listed |

That would make no sense at all. They would not collect a 5% fee on money that was not raised through their website. Adding the offline amounts only updates the total dollar figure to give a more accurate picture of the campaign status.

How do you know that? You made the money "offline" but you made the advertising on site, whatever money you make may be part of that "contract" with them. I didn't read all the policy, but I would try to avoid the "surprise" for example when one gives me 10 dollars online, and somebody else 200 offline, I add the number there and can't withdraw anything, because the 10 is considered 5% tax for the 210. They may even ask me to deposit 10 cents more

Anyone is welcome to donate via check/money order/wire transfer/carrier pidgeon if they prefer. The gofundme is nice because it gets a few people that would not have otherwise participated to throw a bit in.

LaurV does raise a valid point - we should definitely check the GFM fine print re. offline donations before listing those. What they don't know can't bite us in the ass, or something.
