Pokemon go and the curse of the french fries

So, apparantly, Pokemon go is officially released in all of europe.. well.. except France.
Due to the recent terrorist attack, the official release is delayed.. until further notice.
For those still unaware of what pokégo is, well... it is a game with an augmented reality twist. you have to get to poké stop ( usually monument, statue, plaque and castle entrance,..) to get consummable. The pokémon themselves are caugh in the "wild". IE you walk down the street and ding, a pokemon spawn. You use consummable to catch them. The problem is that you can use "lure" in pokestop. they make the pokémon spawn right near the stop. And generally, where tthere is a lure there is a crowd. And these crowd are easy target. Those are the official reason.

Another good thing is that the stops are giving "eggs" that spawn pokemon. the way to hatch those eggs is to walk. Those egg come in 2km (1.25 mile) , 5km ( 3 miles) and 10 km (6 miles). Thats good for me.

Well.. officially I shouldn't be able to play it. But a tweaked Bluestack (android emulator) allow me to do so. on my phone too but... shh

I assure you, dead body drop only for the most infortunate players. I have encountered none yet.

I haven't found any dead bodies yet with Pokemon Go. There are only bugs (Weedle/Caterpie), rats (Ratata) and birds (Pidgeys Spearrows) nearby. The game is fun for a couple of hours, but those nasty teenagers have way more spare time to "gotta catch them all".

Even my father finds the game amusing, but he has worked in the Geo information busniss his entire life :).

That's the new, yet-to-be-released feature. You can also spawn hookers, rapists, policemen, firemen and more minor stuff like people to do your laundry and wash your dishes.

The really fun thing is to pit the policeman against one of the criminal pokemon and see who wins.

It's good for adding excitement to your day. You can find all kinds of stuff that you never knew existed.

But sometimes it's enough. There's a point when the best thing to do is to sit down, rest and chill out.

Am I the only one here who thinks that prime hunting and pokemon finding have a lot of things in common? Consider this:

* Small primes and weak pokemon are common and easy to find/get.
* Big prime candidates and strong pokemon take a long time to test/encounter. Once tested/encountered, the likelihood of primality/capture is slim.
* You get bragging rights if you discover a large prime or capture a strong pokemon.
* The discovery of a large prime or the capture of a rare pokemon by itself is of no practical use. But the by-products of the quest do produce some real-world benefits and drawbacks.
* A good by-product of finding primes is stress testing hardware and finding bugs. A good by-product of finding pokemon is getting exercise and meeting people.
* A bad by-product of finding primes is the environmental impact of the increased electricity use. A bad by-product of finding pokemon is an increase in accidents. Both by-products can be mitigated by getting your power from renewable energy for the former and paying attention to your surroundings for the latter.
* You can spend as much or as little money as you'd like on both pursuits. Spending more money speeds up your progress on both.
* Both activities were popularized in the mid 90s and have a "level cap". At that time, you couldn't get a pokemon beyond level 100, and you couldn't test primes with exponents greater than 79.3 million.
* Both pursuits are susceptible to cheating. Cheaters for both pursuits will be banned if caught.
* Over-zealous participants of both activities can get into legal trouble. Prime finders aren't allowed to run their programs on non-authorized computers, and pokemon hunters aren't allowed to trespass.
* There are different types for both. You've got water, fire, electric, etc. types for Pokemon, and different bases and +/-1 for primes.
