I was able to get a preliminary peek at the current candidate polynomials and it doesn't look promising. The best so far is <9e-15. cownoise: Code:

My best from CADO is 9.61e-15 according to cownoise.
I'll test-sieve it against the Gimarel polys, but I expect inferiority. |

Gimarel's second poly proved fastest, and with highest yield. A 32/33 LP hybrid appears a bit faster than 33/33, and produces less data, so that was chosen. I did not trial-sieve 32/32. |

The C196 is done, next blocker is a C164 which I've ECM'ed a bit past T50. I will CADO it starting tonight, unless someone with more hardware takes it first.
I expect to need about a week to factor it on 20 cores. Edit: I'll post the C196 log/info to the 16e thread tonight also. Last fiddled with by VBCurtis on 2020-12-22 at 20:54 |

Knowing Ed and his farm, two days is all it will take to sieve!
I got to about 1.2t50 on the C164, tried a few hundred curves at 15e7 before I saw Ed's reservation. |

I was optimistically thinking tomorrow evening, but it is still in size opt polyselection. In checking, I found that I do not have an "Improved" c165 params file (hint, hint).

Edit: I do have a snap0 recovery script, that picks things up if something crashes, but I'm a bit leery of changing things once it's underway, unless necessary. Last fiddled with by EdH on 2020-12-23 at 03:25 |
