Can you post each day what base you're up to on t40 ECM? |

I've gone through 90^95. I didn't do any today.
I spent a long time today getting my main GPU machine running again. I was having hard drive crashes continuously. I'm trying another drive, but I'm not sure it isn't something else. Complicating the issue is the fact that the GPU for LA work doesn't have a video output, so I had to swap cards back and forth until I could get my ssh working with the new drive. |

All sequences with cofactor C<132 digits have been cleared.
I found that I had missed doing ECM on some of the sequences for pending bases 828, 888, 996, & 1264460. I was alerted to this when 828 was added by Jean-Luc as a new base yesterday. Doing everything correctly cleared quite a few on the 4 bases but left behind a C124, C129, C136, & C140 (full ECM). I then cleared the first two of those but am still working on 888^57 (C136) and 996^58 (C140). They should be done by this afternoon. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2022-09-29 at 11:46 |

Today's plan is to resume the t40 work at 91^91 and the NFS work at c=

996^58 went straight from index 1 to prime with a p174!

An interesting success! I rewrote my index 1 scripts to use only the .elf files instead of checking the last line via the html and I can now run the entire set without the db showing any use via the limits page.
![]() I am going to review where else I can work this in. (I already discovered it's the best way to update my local set for the main n^i project.) |

I guess you missed that I said I was working on both of those. I knew they'd be in your interest area, which is why I mentioned them. The C136 for 888^57 was done on my machine when I got back home and the C140 for 996^58 is due to be done in the next hour or two. I had wanted to clear these two because I had missed them in my previous ECM effort. It's OK. I needed to spell it out a little better in a separate statement instead of burying it at the end of the para. You've done way more than your share in helping me out. Congrats on the quick termination! Actually I would prefer if you do the C135s. It gets a little long for each test there when there are that many of them. I will eventually clear everything below that. I'll take the C132s & C133s today. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2022-09-29 at 21:48 |

My Ryzen screams at ECM. So much so that it makes the most sense to let my other machines do the C132-133 testing right now and have it run ECM only for an extended period.
I'm going to ECM all bases 100 to 200 to t40. After removing all of the C<=135 that are already fully ECM'd, there are 39 of them. Since everything is already at t35, it should finish in ~11-12 hours, more quickly if a lot of them split. |

Darn! Sorry about that! I caught the mention of them, and I didn't have those in the set when I first made my work list starting at 135. When I redid it for above 135, I totally forgot, and I remember wondering why they were still there as I made up the new set. I do try to make sure I'm not duplicating when I set up. I'll try to be more attentive. I think I was also in a bit of a hurry, hoping to post before you signed off, but not making it.

I'm already thinking of what it will take to change all my scripts from parsing the .html download to parsing the .elf. One of the things I have to do is construct the cofactor. I was able to read it from the .html, but it's not in the .elf, so I use pari/gp to divide the term by the factors that are there.
For ECM, I just finished 94^100 and there were only 3 of 23 that factored by t40 today. I'll try to run the rest of the 9x bases tomorrow. I haven't checked to see if they look like they'll complete or not. It may depend on when I start. I'll move down to the c135s (for NFS) after I run four more c14x overnight. I think I'm past the point where I can intercept the current run before bed, but I think the c14x's will carry over to the morning anyway. |
