Question Word Problem

Here's one for English scholars;

There is a five letter word containing 5 other words within itself.
The letters that make up the word do not have to be re-arranged in any manner. Also each word is complete with no intervening letters.
What is the word and can you give any more?

There are many words that would have more than 5 solutions. Here's words with six and seven subwords

Six:
GORED: GO, OR, ORE, RED, GORE and RE is also a word (as in do, re, mi ..)

Seven:
HATED: A, HA, AT, ATE, HAT, HATE, TED

Here's an 8 solution and a 10 solution (out of a maximum of 11). Can anyone find an 11?

You have a 5-answer Uncwilly, if you use the vowel and remove the proper noun.

i
pa
ai
in
ain

ains

Here's a ten solution:

MAXIS

A
I
MA
AX
XI
IS
MAX
XIS
MAXI

XI is a Scrabble word. It's an Asian currency

DUh.

sounds like a job for a Perl script.

I downloaded Python last night. Maybe with the right word list I can give it a whirl

<tangent>
Xi is a letter of the Greek alphabet; Xu is the currency. Which is lucky, because xis is valid, but xus is no good.
