To be taken with a grain of salt:
On CBS news, it was stated that toward the end of January, some models are predicting 1 million Covid infections per day.

Well, that didn't take long.
On Monday, Jan 3, one million Covid infections were reported in the U.S. !

Preliminary Injunction GRANTED against Navy enforcing COVID vaccine mandate against group of Navy SEALs with religious objections.

Actual court order may be viewd here

This could be a VERY important ruling. Granting a preliminary injunction means, among other things, that the Court has found that the Plaintiffs are likely to prevail on the merits in their suit.

An attorney I know has told me that the "sincerely held belief" standard is practically legally unassailable.

I'm not sure how sound the judge's reasoning is, though.

US is catching up to Denmark in cases per capita.

Denmark also set a new "record" today with 25,073 cases or 13.33% of the the 188,110 tests, the 13.33% is also a record.

Denmark: 25,073 cases / 5.867 million people ~ 4274 cases per million people
US: 1,017,376 cases / 331.894 million people ~ 3065 cases per million people

I've seen anti-vax "posters" showing a revolver with barrel replaced by a hypodermic syringe, with the slogan, "I won't play Russian Roulette with my body" or something similar.

A lot of folks who refuse to get vaccinated, also refuse to wear masks or take other measures to avoid contracting or passing on the virus.

Not to mention relying on "my immune system," dietary supplements, and not-even-experimental drugs to prevent or cure COVID.

Seems to me these folks aren't just playing Russian Roulette, they're playing Russian Roulette with five loaded chambers!

But some random nobody on the Internet said that crap works, so clearly it will be better than the vaccines tested and certified by competent people that know what they are talking about.

Rational thinking? What that?

At 1M US persons/day, it shouldn't take long to burn through all the unvaccinated * nonimmune-from-prior-variants-exposure intersection of sets and run out of prime candidates. There are news reports that UK, US, are likely to soon see falling infection rates for that reason, as South Africa did. Search "falling omicron infection rate". https://www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...says-rcna11356
"As of the week ending Jan. 1, 4.3 per 100,000 children under age 5 were admitted to a hospital with Covid-19, Walensky said." I wonder if Sotomayor only heard the part after "per": "100,000 children under age 5 were admitted to a hospital with Covid-19". Perhaps we should start requiring a passing grade in math for appointment to SCOTUS or the bench in general.
