2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died
5. A year later (1982) Italy won the Football World cup
6. A year later India won the cricket world Cup!!!

Year 2005
1. Prince Charles got married
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died
5. A year later (2006) Italy won the Football worldcup
6. A year later will India win the world Cup?????

This mail was doing rounds as forwards during Football World Cup with a
question that will Italy win the world cup.

Apparently they did.....

Well tomorrow is the ultimate match for India in the WC. Lets wait and see or will it be "weight and sea" ?

Well that could very well have been left out, as with the others, they dont bear with the final result. That's why its called 'coincidence'.

Well Pat 123 ( I miss my dear departed brother Patrick very much too) and so my eyes will be glued to my set.

Actually I am not a fanatic and have always maintained that the better team wins . In boxing we had the prize for 'best loser' and once I got it.

Personally I was amazed and filled with admiration that Herschelle Gibbs hit up 6 sixes in one over and that too in an international match of world class.

I saw it being done in a regional Ranji Trophy match in my home town when I was a kid.

S'Africa is still wet behind the ears in cricket but I wish you and your team all the best and hope they at least reach the Finals if not win the WC

I was watching a bit of Sky News earlier, re: Bob Woolmer that has now been determined murder. They mentioned the 'Mumbai Mafia', not buddies of yours I hope

It is a sad day when such sporting issues are reduced to skulduggery

Here in South Africa, there are still many conspiracy theories relating to Hansie Cronje. i.e. He's gone into the witness protection program with his death been faked... Well we'll never know, but as long as we can hope that there's still a bit of good in this world and we are watching honest, down to earth cricket.

Yeah in the past at one time this was very true. The players were mostly from the colonies.

But seriously the English are great as they have the ready trait to laugh at themselves.

Right now the games are on and I only just realised that S.A. is playing against SL.
Well SL elected to bat, and they have put up a poor show- 92 for 4

The WI are not faring too well either against the Poms.

It looks like the downunders will win the cup in the long run.

As for India we are a disgrace. I cant get over the record breaker Sachin going out for a duck! Now that's a record!

SL (former Ceylon) takes me back to an excellent movie in the old days-
