Default Strange expiration

I've got a manual assignment from GIMPS on July 1, the number is much greater than the upper limit of Assignment Rules and I think I can finish it within 360 days according to the rules. But when I finished updating the data this morning, I found the assignment is expired! As you know, I just start the LL task of this assignment last night and it is the first updating of it.

I don't know why this assignment is expired (because it is a manual test) and I cannot get the assignment again since system think I am expired and cannot assign it again.

Could you please check it?

A Category 4 LL assignment will expire if not started within 90 days. 90 days from July 1st was September 29th.

You can actually get the assignment again if you exit Prime95, edit worktodo.txt to say:

Test=87654321,75,1 (using the numbers from the expired assignment)

and restart Prime95.

Thanks for you help and I‘ve got the assignment again.

The C4 rules is "Assignments are recycled if assignment is not started within 90 (unless manual testing) days", so I really don't think it is OK for the expiration because it is a “manual testing”.

By the way, I started another assignment after the "expiration" today. That assignment was assigned on July 15th and it seems this assignment been updated correctly. According to your count method, 90 days from July 15th was October 14th. But why that assignment did not expired?

The bigger question I have is why you're manually reserving specific exponents so far in advance of starting work on them?

The good news is, the exponents you're trying to work on are unlikely to be automatically assigned to anyone else since they're larger than the current 74-75M exponents being assigned. So just follow the tips on editing your worktodo to re-add the exponent you want and it should get assigned to you again.

The manual reservation system is designed to prevent people from reserving work, letting it expire, and then reserving it again.
