Hi! TTn
I recently began using RMA. Parameters set for 1*2^n-1 Having entered an eight digit prime RMA got to approx. 964 billion divisions. Being away I think we had a power black out. Anyway after a few days RMA began to work again, about 2 trillion divisions NewPgen went blank and LLR began giving output data 12*2^........-1 RMA is still ticking along but t & t~ stoped updating A another file z file began and is updating I think from LLR. I have jut read a post at this forum by TTn and I think what is happening is normal. ? Is there something I should be doing. ? the data given by LLR is at .30% Time pre iteration 1.208sec, after 24 hours LLR is up to iteration approx. 108000 I am running a slower P111 551 Mhz 512 MG of ram. |

re post above (vor): RMA has just shut down Dialogue box gives:
"Run-time error "6" Overflow" unable to get RMA to continue. Any explanations please? How do I get RMA/LLR to continue searching? |

I'll will look into this error message asap! I did recieve your email.
Power outs can screw up the operating system, as this has just happened to me a couple of days ago. If you are testing 10 million digit primes, then your PIII is extremely slow at doing so. Your time is better spent on smaller exponents that help sieve out larger candidates. For example: n= 100000 up to n = 1000000 TTn re post above (vor): RMA has just shut down Dialogue box gives: "Run-time error "6" Overflow" unable to get RMA to continue. Any explanations please? This could be an error produced by the interuption of the screen saver.
I deleted the code from earlier versions, that shuts the saver down before looping. Once I confirm this, I will revise RMA. ![]() |

I think that's it.
The current way to work-around this is to turn off your screen saver, or make sure the screen saver is set longer than rma's preference for loop time. ![]() I am coding the .NET version of RMA now.(Subsequently A.S.A) I plan on doing a simple revision of the current version, that will not rely on the .NET framework.
