I'm fine with whatever you end up with, but I'll provide some feedback. I like the suggestion for seq index size csize. On a very minor note, visually, for me, I think the "column-title-enshrinkenment" is too close. Several columns run together. But, I've always had that issue with tables and can use them just fine as they show. I can see the links OK, but perhaps darkening them slightly would help gd_.

Yes if you can darken the sequence and index link colors that would be helpful.

Perhaps a darker brown and/or less yellowish tint.

It looks like Ed likes the idea of the first four columns and Yoyo has no problem with it. Are there any other effects in automated scripts or anything of that nature? What does everyone else say? :-)

I wonder if the name of this thread makes people overlook it. Would the regulars know that we are discussing the layout of your table here? I was just browsing various random threads getting reacquainted with the project when I found it. I did not know that the table layout was being discussed.

Okay, take 3. The early column reordering is upgraded to "will proceed if no complaints in the remaining dev period". I'm uncertain about the new link color. The old color was #FF8300, the one in the attached pic is #B07000. Further suggestions welcome.

Adding a few extra pixels to the column width is generally fine by me, but implementation could be difficult because it has to be done via the DataTables JS interface rather than directly in CSS. I think. Not sure, haven't really looked into it yet.

The title was descriptive when I first made the page years ago, but the extra "goodies" at the end of the title are courtesy of the Red. I would certainly like to see it changed to "The Blue Page" or something more immediately recognizable, now that it's established.

Just now I was browsing for sequences to reserve and I missed a range filter for size and csize columns. Can I have those maybe hidden as an "Expert" menu?

I'm disinclined to continue adding further "stuff" to filter the data. This entire webpage is one big lesson on "how to shittily reproduce the most basic functionality of a relational database", and I'm not especially interested in designing a full blown query-type interface on the webpage. In general, I'm inclined to tell people who want to do more advanced querying to just use the json file.

Having said that, I'm willing to consider it, at least. I saw you privately sent me some further specifics about it, which I'll try to get to within ~5 days or so, I'm currently a bit preoccupied.

Okay here's another take. I darkened the link colors a bit further, and there's a 4 pixel padding in the table columns (not sure the previous image had the "correct" column widths anyways, but hey). Let me know which is preferred, on either aspect (compared to the image in post 212, I mean).

Let's put a hard cap on further dev time; say, if no one complains by Friday, I'll merge this stuff to master on Saturday.

I've just pushed a further commit that, in the process of centralizing the CSS between the main and stats page, also changes the main table width from "width: 90%" to "margin: 20px", which is slightly smaller than the main-table-to-picture margin. This should result in a wider table, even on smaller screens, hopefully less wasted screen space. But, unlike the table column order, things like link color or table width are much easier to adjust whenever, so I'll stick to the complain-by-Friday! target.

To be absolutely clear, if anyone has compaints about the column ordering/layout in post #218, this week is the time to say something!
