I remember when that came out. I was a kid and liked it to the point I bought the 45. I suppose I played it too often, because my mother told me to stop playing it, saying it was "disrespectful".

Today we would say that she was being "politically correct", lol.

It's long been understood it could not continue indefinitely.
It can not be otherwise, since atomic diameter is finite and non-zero. (222 pm for silicon)
