S14 is completed. SF won by the narrowest of margins against a much improved LC0 (a NN engine). LC0 was superior during middlegame throughout the match, but SF was better during endgames. A few games with huge blunders from LC0 saw SF emerging victorious (50.5-49.5).

With 7 games remaining, SF has already wrapped up S16 -- this time against a new NN engine AllieStein.

Yep unfortunately Lc0 did not qualify for the superfinal but got 3rd place in DivP even though it was undefeated +9 -0 =33 but it won less vs the weaker opponents than Stockfish and AllieStein, though it actually beat SF once.

To prove that Lc0 is still stronger a fan has been hosting an "alternate superfinal" on twitch with Lc0 vs Stockfish, with the same SF version as the real superfinal and all the same settings and time controls and the same openings and it is now at game 94 and it is +13 -9 =71 for Lc0 after 93 games:

So looks like Lc0 could still have been the champion if it had just qualified

Agreed. One of the weakness of this format, but, c'est la vie.

BTW, final score +14 -5 =81 (54.5 - 45.5)

EDIT:- IIRC, SF had couple of crashes against H & AS, without which LC0 might've qualified for SuFi.

4 games to go in S18. SF has a winning lead against LC0.

Interestingly out of the top 4 in Division P, positions 2-4 were all NNs. The sole alpha-beta was, of course, SF at the top. I wonder when the NN takeover will be complete...
