Yeah, the Titan Z with the dual GK110s would be better than the GM200, if I understand it right.

I guess I can also say there was an Intel/Prime95 verification done already so we need the cross platform/code validation to make it official.

I sent AirSquirrels the exponent to test (with a Titan Z would be best I guess).

Now I'm sure the guessing game and sleuthing will begin as usual...

Yeah for double precision its: Titan Z > Titan Black >= Titan

Titan X and 980 / 980 Ti have very low double precision, 1/32th of single I believe.

I went ahead and also accepted ATH's offer of the Titan Black as well... parallel verifications on CudaLucas, just in case one or the other has a hiccup along the way.

Okay, the info is out to ATH and AirSquirrels... fingers crossed!

Sweet!!!

Now, for those who manage the servers and the assignments iff this turns out to be true... Are we ready?

I think so, but doing a double check (no joke intended) just to be sure....

The info has been passed along to Ernst too so he may be dong a verification as well, I just wouldn't expect it to finish before the CudaLucas runs? I don't know.

I hope so. I think we may opt to disable certain CPU intensive things for a few days since the server will be dishing out the press release page or other things like the history/milestone stuff.

The milestone page now has the cool "cache" feature I added, just for this very reason (to handle surges in traffic). So it's mostly worrying about temporarily blocking access to the exponent report stuff if that becomes an issue.

If we get more people signing up as a result of the renewed interest, I'll leave it to George to best gauge if the assignments can keep up. I think it should be fine, and new users won't be getting priority work, and the new expiration rules will make sure the abandoned assignments don't persist too long, unlike when the last prime was found.

Too much traffic is certainly a nice problem to have...

I went overkill and put this to three separate Furys with clLucas, two Titans and the Z, as well as my fastest Xeon system with 32 cores so I can verify iterations along the way.

~ 3-4 days, single GPUs still can't beat tons of x86 cores for raw single exponent throughput...

Sorry, being a leisurely Left Coaster on his weekend I just went online 30 mins ago ... anyhow, SergeB in the meantime had already build the latest official Mlucas release using the spiffy new(ish) auto-build tools, he is doing some manythread scaling tests of the AVX2/FMA3-using binary @4M FFT length to see what the best #cores to use will be.
