Found factors results lines should be handled better now. Most importantly if a factor is found (especially a composite factor) it should be recorded in the bitrange it was found in, not the bitrange of the factor itself. This can be seen in for example M3321929843 where a composite factor exists in 74-75 and is now recorded as such (previously it showed up as 32-33/41-42). Also, credit for completed ranges with factors should now show up correctly (please go find some more big factors to confirm this ).

My (bad) English can play me tricks, but if I read that right, I don't see where the advantage is
Factors should be seen/shown like prime factors. Even if found by P-1, some classification "by k" (i.e. by how hard was to find them) may make sense, but composite factors won't make much sense outside of the (only one) table which shows all divisors (al combinations of products).

Sorry, I should have been more clear: I have fixed a bug on the site where composite factors were displayed poorly. See attached example: "bad" is how it was before (showing the prime factor, but not correctly showing what bitrange was being searched when the factor was found), "good" is how it is now, it still shows the same prime factors but correctly shows that these small factors were found while searching 74-75 bitrange.

Apologies, but I'm going to have to drop the exponent that I reserved. Can James unreserve it on mersenne.ca?

You could share your checkpoint file if present

You can unreserve it yourself, just click "edit" then the pink "Unreserve" button, as per the attached example.

If you're somehow no longer logged in (cleared your cookies, different browser/computer, etc) then let me know and I can clear it for you. But really all I'm going to do is reserve an exponent as you to get cookied as you, then unreserve it and the one you want to unreserve.

This clearly demonstrates it's a very unsecure system, but for the 5 people who play with it I don't think it matters much.

Oh, and another thing: should we update the link underneath the name of the forum so that new people won’t get redirected to a dead link? Preferably to either https://mersenne.ca/obd or lavalamp’s page.

I've cleared my cookies, so I can't unreserve it.
Here's my checkpoint file: M3321931967 83 84 4620 0.21: 45 0 02B190DD

I did exactly what I said above, I reserved the next exponent as you, then unreserved both of them for you.

I've send a message to some moderators to get it changed to https://www.mersenne.ca/obd
I have limited moderator powers in some forums, but I don't have the ability to edit that.

The forum subtitle has been updated by some moderator to point to mersenne.ca/obd

Sorry to say this could be a while longer.

I'm flying to America for a bit so I'll be away from my 'pooter. Hence the large reservations.

I've told it to search by level in the bit range and stop after a factor. I don't expect to get to the second exponent, but that's there as a backup in case the first strikes lucky.
