I've been doing a lot of PRPing in the 117M range, but this has now been booked by Primenet & I can't manually check out any more. Putting my own line in worktodo results in 'illegal line in worktodo' message. Similar to pegaso in previous post, Primenet probably won't accept PRP result, so what to do?

If you insist on working on specific exponents you can try to get an manual assignment But really, the best thing you could do -- set your client to do What Makes Sense and let it get assignments automatically. |

Right, but that is how you are supposed to get an assignment for one specific exponent - by putting a line into your worktodo (copy a line that worked, change what needs to be changed and the AID to "N/A", yes?). Surely cases where a user must be blocked from assignment - mainly, blatant abuse and suspected fraud - are rare enough that they should be done manually by an administrator.
While the error message quoted by pegaso seems to be clear, in that somehow it has been decided to block his PRPs (why would this happen?) Minty probably has nothing to worry about - the server does not to my knowledge refuse results because of not having an assignment, and his 'booked by Primenet' comment appears not to be user-specific. I suppose 'What Makes Sense' could be said to be 'best' for nearly everyone, but many people would prefer something else and GIMPS generally accommodates such desires. |

"Illegal line in worktodo" is a local Prime95 error where the worktodo line is malformed in some way. It's not a PrimeNet error.

Thanks everyone! (especially James) I wanted to keep going in the 117M range & put gibberish in the long first input of worktodo. Deleting that resulted in being assigned the number, now me & PrimeNet are pals again! (though that was never really in doubt was it?!) Cheers to everyone that read & replied

Inserting yourself N/A, will prevent issue of a valid AID for the worktodo line. To obtain an AID for it, by the next PrimeNet API checkin by mprime/prime95, the AID field and its trailing comma must be absent. "N/A: no AID issued yet, and don't get one at the next PrimeNet checkins" https://www.mersenneforum.org/showpo...8&postcount=22 And there are other ways of obtaining an assignment with valid AID, including the manual web page. Hi
Really I don`t know what is going on. Server assigned the exponent, I did not get it manually. F-ECM found Code:

Oh, I see, it was not my Intention. I was trying to find factors in low exponents manually. Sorry again, i`m doing F-ECM assigned from server only.
Best regards, Carlos |
