It's now time to help find some primes!
We are currently sieving 210885 to n=1,000,000. We are at a point where it's faster to LLR test the smaller n's, then it is to sieve them. 15k=210885 has produced 101 primes from n=2 to n=213,029 We would like to gather more information on this 15k, so we would like to continue testing it to n=1,000,000. We now have llr .txt test files ready to go to help search for k=210885 primes! (This part of our project is the same idea as 321 search) How to help search for primes: 1. If you don't have LLR.exe, download the latest version of llr.zip here! 2. Download one of the available test files below (right-click link, and select "Save Target As"). Save the file in the same folder as LLR.exe. Post to this thread that you have downloaded a test range. 3. Open LLR, and select the "Test" menu, then "Input Data" In the "Input File (From NewPGEN):" box enter the file from step 2 (IE - 275to280.txt) In the "Output file:" box, enter prime.txt Click "OK" (If the LLR icon doesn't turn from "Red" to "Green" repeat step 3, and it will start the 2nd time you hit "OK") 3.5 If you see a number show up in the prime.txt file, you have found a new prime that will qualify for the top 5000 prime list! If you don't have a 15k top 5000 prime list prover code, I'll help you set one up so you will receive credit for the new prime! 4. When the test is complete, please e-mail the lresults.txt file to Kosmaj. Rename the file so that the range is included in the name, for example lresults500to502.txt. If you have any questions mail me (private mail, e-mail) and I'll try to help you. Status: Code:

![]() I added 4 ranges above my current search range so someone can try to find the next largest 15k prime! I don't want to add more ranges because I'm still sieving the larger n's. If you want to request a range, just let me know, and I'll be happy to set it up! FYI- The reason I took the 300,000 to 330,000 range - I have a training class next week, so I needed to load up 2 machines for the long weekend, plus the first 3 days of next week... I never thought I would find a prime right in the middle of the 30k split! (at 315k) The top 100 primes: Currently the #100 prime on the top 5000 list is 193876 digits. We will be in this range when we start testing n>645900. I know we will get there the only question is who will find the first top 100 prime? (...lets work on the smaller ranges first, till the larger ones are sieved ) Last fiddled with by SlashDude on 2003-11-25 at 20:45 |

Hello, I'm new here but I'll try to help as much as I can. The 330-340 range is mostly done, I'll report results tomorrow because I cannot access those machines now.
To keep another box busy I'd like to reserve the 340-345 range too. |

Processing of the 330-340 range is completely done: No primes found.
![]() Crunching the guys in the 340-345 range is under way and I'd like to reserve the 350-355 range too (just noticed that SlashDude got 345-350). ![]() Last fiddled with by Kosmaj on 2003-12-02 at 09:19 |
