Like Anonymous said the "Factoring limits" page is on the V5 server, to be more precise it is at the page http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_factoring_effort/

Then I have another question: I can't find the exponent I want to test on that page (I input the proper range, but not all primes in that range show up after click "get data") can I use the factoring bit of the most nearby exponent for my exponent?

If your number does not show up there are two possibilities : it has been factored already which you can verify using the link George gave in the previous post or ... the exponent is not prime and the corresponding Mersenne number can not be prime. In either case an LL test is unnecessary ! Jacob Last fiddled with by S485122 on 20080514 at 15:56 Reason: tried to be clearer...

Here is my new problem.
I added a exponent for test into worktodo.ini Test=57xxxxxx,69,1 and repeatedly get following error message like below [Wed May 28 19:47:05 2008 ver 24.14] Sending result to server for exponent 57xxxxxx ERROR 3: Server database crashed or exponent not assigned to this computer. How can I let primenet know that I'm working on this exponent now and will get the credit as it's done? Thanks
