2,1165+ finished sieving and 3,667- has started. It was next in line in terms of
SNFS difficulty. (Greg has skipped 12,319- [quintic] for the time being)

The status page has not been updated recently. All of the numbers on it have been sieved,
so we do not know what is planned.

I've been very busy with teaching a 5 week summer course from home so I just threw 3,667- in to keep the clients busy. I'll update everything in a couple of weeks or so.

Greg, do you know of anyone offering a first course (on-line) in string theory?
I'd love to take one. Or a course in quantum field theory? I did get to take
a course in relativistic quantum mech from Ed Purcell when I was an undergrad.
[45 years ago, however!] It was a small fun class; he was a superb teacher.

I'm not sure if I have the needed pre-reqs.
My differential geometry background is minimal, so I may need to take that first.
Basic tensor analysis is not a problem.

Since Greg generally does them in order of size [look at the status page] you should realize

I would like to learn more about string theory.

An excellent introduction to QFT can be found in quantum field theory DeMYSTiFieD (the StuDlY CapS is how it appears on the front cover) by David McMahon. Not knowing your present level I couldn't say whether you would find it useful or too basic.

but 12^319 > 10^323, so 10^323-1 should be factored first
