Ah... To be young again!

Thank you for your work. It has helped a lot.

Now we who only have Colab to help us get up to 81 bits. A steep hill...

Sucks to be us...

P.S. Humor can be a subjective thing. Not all get that... 9^)

I am hardly young, just unencumbered.

I'm old enough to remember when Slashdot didn't have threading in the comments.

I hope you're not planning on bailing out of here completely! This would be a loss to many.

I've been coming and going. I first participated in the project anonymously over two decades ago.

I'll probably keep my quad cores in storage for the future. I wouldn't get much if I sold them.

I started in 2005 running small jobs on a single core Celeron. When my dad became ill with cancer in 2010, I moved back home to watch over him. A rural area with no internet service. After he passed away in 2011, I stayed on to look after the place, keeping the yard mowed, and so on. I fashioned a TV antenna with aluminum wire, so I had that. I didn't get back to the internet world until late 2014. A little over four years I was away from here.

Quad cores: When I built this system in 2018, I didn't know what a "K" behind i7-7700 meant so I didn't get one. New ones are just as pricey now as they were then. There is always eBay, but how does a person know if they are legit and functional?

Mark is still running one machine, doing P-1 on 100Mdigit exponents. Given what he's said, I'm not sure
even that will persist after the end of this month.

I just looked at my Colab files on their site. I haven't used them since 2020. Perhaps I got tired of the short runs and being cut off. I might give it a try on another machine and see how it behaves now.
