Earlier on, a cousin on the other side of the family and her family, who live two time zones away, all had it and recovered before I knew anything. May you and everyone in your family recover quickly! [taps fist to head] Knock on wood... Once you all have recovered, the year will be decidedly better, because you'll all most likely be immune for some time. |

Just to clarify no symptoms at all. The question is was my nephew contagious 36 hours before symptoms? My wife and I are isolating for 10 days.

The important thing to keep in mind is that the majority of people recover from the disease. So regardless, statistics are on your side.

If you caught the bug, that's the time for those mindless and tedious tasks you can do to while your head feels like it's stuffed with wet feathers. You will (knock on wood) recover quickly and then be immune for some time. If you didn't catch the bug, then at some point you can get vaccinated. |

The local pharmacy (or county-sponsored, or state-sponsored sites - those should be no fee) can do a nasal test. Just don't go too early because the result will be meaninglessly negative.
Best wishes for that to turn to be inconsequential! |

@George: That's kind of shitty, but not as bad as it sounds. Nothing to despair about. We wish you get healthy soon!
My family in Ro and wife's family there too, almost all had it (more than 10 persons, close relatives) with few exceptions (nieces and nephews didn't get it, but they don't live with parents anymore, also my mother in law which is over 70 didn't get it, but she lives mostly alone too), and they all recovered, almost no symptoms, with one exception, who had some fever and lost the smell for few days, stayed in hospital and needed oxygen (she is 62 and has a peacemaker for more than 10 years), but she recovered. Nobody died. In fact, we only know about a single relative that died, a very distant one, who died "of covid", but he was like 75 and diabetic. Interesting that they all got it from different sources - except for two "in family" transmissions, where the wife got it from husband in one case, and viceversa in another case. One of my wife sisters got it from her work place, where she has an idiotic boss who doesn't believe in covid, she (the boss) got infected, had fever, went to hospital and tested positive, was quarantined at home, but continued to came to work, infecting my sister in law and all (eleven) colleagues. My sister's in law husband is retired (they are both in their 60s) and living on countryside (about 50 km) where they have a small farm, where he is mostly alone, no workers, no neighbors, mostly pets and farm stuff, he sees his wife every few days, or only in weekends, but now due to covid, they didn't meet for a while. He was very scared about covid, because he has thyroid problems (he took it off years ago, and living on hormone pills). Guess what? He tested positive too. And he was really scared. But he had no symptoms. His wife had mild fever, but nothing else (not the same person I said above that lost the smell for few days). This was before Xmas. Due to which they met (almost) all at that farm and had a very nice Xmas dinner, haha. Covid party. We in Thai still didn't get it. Probably. (The 14 days after our return from Phuket holiday didn't pass yet, haha). The little LaurV down under didn't get it either (yet). So, nothing to despair about. My sister's entire family had it and they have all recovered fully.
We hope your nephew gets well soon - and that you stay well, too. |

That´s time for some more serious P95 development.... That will keep you going through the quarantine
![]() And, who knows, may be a new MP will pop up. I remember a couple of years ago some being discovered while you were on holiday. Don´t know whether quarantine also qualifies. Well, seriously, I wish you all the best! Hope everything will be fine in the end. |
