How do I run the twin prime gap program? I have been trying to do it, but I keep getting errors. The program is twingaps.exe. What is wrong?

Apparently the Windows version doesn't run on Mac PCs. Have you tried the Linux version? I think it's this one: https://www.mersenneforum.org/showpo...&postcount=142

I'm not quite an expert in program compatibility on different systems, so I can't be of any further help here I'm afraid.

I think you are conflating compiling with gcc and running an executable. Try the command without gcc -c prepended. You might have to start with ./twingaps.exe

The program does not seem to be working on my computer, so I will let you have the range. I guess it was OK for you to have an infinite range. By the way, the reason that I started a new thread is because the other thread about twin primes is getting long. I might reserve another range later if I can figure it out on my computer.

Too late but this is how I managed to run the client under windows.


1) Create a batch file called "test0.bat" with

@echo off

SET kmin="1.15e16"
SET kmax="1.16e16"
SET mingap=4000

twingaps0.exe -k1 %kmin% -k2 %kmax% -mingap %mingap%

2) Create another batch file called "start0.bat" with

test0.bat >> logfile0.txt

3) Rename twingaps.exe to twingaps0.exe
4) On start0.bat change "SET" for your range
5) Start testing with test0.bat (core0).

7)No checkpoints available so you will need to control your progress throughout the logfile.txt
