Almost done with the P-1 work you sent across last month, can I have now another batch of 100 P-1 but for range lower than 20M? If not happy to proceed with 30M, 40M, 50 exponent range. TIA.

No one seems to be in the 16M range:
I think there are 121 here. About 2.3 GhzDays each

From my experience, adding NoMoreWork=1 in prime.txt might prevent this from happening again.

OK....do you want more 30M or do you prefer these 16M?

Looks like all the TF help is getting ahead of P1.

I guess it's a balancing act....How much TF power we have vs. how much P1 (ECM) power.

If I knew the actual ratio, then suggesting where each would best help would be possible. However, I can only guess; and it changes week by week.

Recently, while the P-1 help is certainly increasing (YAY) there is still much more TF capacity being applied here....but the question on my mind is where is it best applied (Of course, at best I can offer an opinion...no more, no less)

The following quote bubble is my deep thinking; feel free to skip it if you so desire.
Quote:
In a nutshell I estimate how many GhzDay per expected factor via P-1 taking into account how much P-1 has already been done....AND... then I do the same for TF, knowing that GPUs are up to 100 times faster at TF than CPUs and that each extra bit of TF takes twice as long as the one before. In 4x.xM and 5x.xM I'm seeing about 150 GDs per factor for P-1 where B1=B2; about twice that where B1/B2 are still relatively low. Based on the typical P-1 that has been done I will expect 15-25 factors at the 150GDsPer and another 5-25 factors of the 300-500GdsPer. As for TF due to the aggressive P-1 I'm seeing about 1% success rate, so for example in the entire 25.0M range TF70-71: 20 Factors; 20,000 Ghz Days: 1,000GDs Per Factor. But by TF74-75 the next 20 factors will take 320,000 GDs; 16,000 Per Factor. Then, as the exponents get lower the cost per factor for P-1 will decrease and for TF will increase. So depending how many more factors are required to get under 2,000 I can determine how much more TF or P-1 to suggest and in what order. Often I'll do 1 or 2 bits of TF; then easier P-1; another bit of TF; harder P-1; more TF or some variation.
There are NOT a lot of ranges right now where I consider all the necessary extra P-1 complete; though there are a few more that could be close enough as long as we have excess TF capacity.

I am P-1'ing in the 4x,xM ranges aggressively:
44.6 and 46.3 are done P-1; 49.4 will be done in a couple weeks.
I am TF'ing 44.6; 46.3 is available for TF.
The remaining 8 have P-1 scheduled though it takes me about 3 weeks per range.
That said, these remaining 8 ranges will all need at least TF75 so it could be done before or after P-1 as long as there is no toe-stepping.
40.1, 41.7, 43.3, 43.4, 43.0, 42.6, 49.6, 48.4

Others are TF'ing and P-1'ing in the 2x.xM and 3x.xM ranges.
There are about a half dozen in 3x.xM that have completed P-1 where B1=B2 and could be tackled by TF but a few have enough factors remaining that I think more P-1 is warranted first.

There are another half dozen or so 3x.xM that B1=B2 P-1 will be enough to release them to TF.

As for 2x.xM I think the first priority is TF to at least 72 bits where necessary; then aggressive P-1.

That's enough for now ... probably way too much!

If necessary I can provide more specifics for the aforementioned ranges.

Thanks all and enjoy the hunt.

There is still about two weeks of P-1 left to bring the entire range to a logical closure, so may be another 10 factors might be found. Why 3.6? 3-4M was the first 1M range with > 20000, and out of that 3.6M was the range with the largest number of unfactored exponents. So picked it as a challenge. What next? Will do some more work around 3-4M range. There is already some activity in that area, so will try not to step on toes.
