Primality testing 3*2^1201046-1 [N+1, Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge]
Running N+1 test using discriminant 7, base 1+sqrt(7)
Calling Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge with factored part 100.00%
3*2^1201046-1 is prime! (52504.3179s+0.0018s)

This is PFGW's 14.5 hour confirmation.

Compare this to llrp4's 52.5 minutes to test the same number:

Using IBDWT : Mersenne fftlen = 65536, Proth fftlen = 131072, Used fftlen = 65536

V1 = 5 ; Computing U0...

3*2^1201046-1 is prime! Time : 3148.560 sec.

Stone me! Thomas Ritschel has just informed me that we have another prime, this time with 370,947 digits and it will enter the top5000 primes at position 38.

3*2^1232255-1 is prime!

I'll verify with PFGW and report back in 15 hours

A new 321 was found by me today

I verified it on the same computer that found it -- a water cooled 3.4Ghz Pentium 4 in 2 hours and 5 minutes.

It has 696,203 decimal digits and will be ranked 17th largest prime in the world todate. (It will be 18th after the verification of GIMPS lastest Mersenne prime find.).

The new 321 prime is largest found by Jean Penne's LLR -- Merry Christmas Jean

It is also the largest non-Mersenne Riesel prime todate.

Thanks to the 321search project team for their effort

I will update the website with the new data.

Please help us find our next prime

The prime is: 3*2^2312734-1

Default Merry Christmas 321, Merry Christmas Paul!

At last !
It is few to say that I am glad of your success !!

The hard and persevering work done by all the participants is the main cause of this success, and it deserves it greatly!

I wish you a merry Christmas and and an happy new year with many new primes (I hope you are now out of this rather surprising gap...).

Whith the best regards,
Jean

P.S. There are good news at present : It seems that a new Mersenne prime is also pending...

Default Paul and others

CONGRATS on a huge prime!

The gap was also huge but hopefully the next one will be much smaller.

Congratulations to Paul and the whole 321 team!

Paul, it has been more than two years since you initiated the 321search project. During that period you did much of the sieving work and a huge amount of the LLR tests - but others found the primes. Now you earn recognition for your endurance: a really big prime! Big congrats again and a Merry Christmas to all of you!
