Default Building gcc 4.4.0

I'm having trouble making gcc 4.4.0 in 64-bit (x86_64) Ubuntu 9.04. It appears to compile correctly (no problems in configure or make), but make check fails. I was able to isolate it to make check-target, which gives:
Running /home/charles/Desktop/gccsrc/libstdc++-v3/testsuite/libstdc++-abi/abi.exp ...
FAIL: abi_check
Running /home/charles/Desktop/gccsrc/libstdc++-v3/testsuite/libstdc++-dg/conformance.exp ...
XPASS: 26_numerics/headers/cmath/ (test for excess errors)

Has anyone here had experience building gcc 4.3 or 4.4 with the PPL/CLooG/Graphite optimizations?

It looks like you're not alone:

I agree that doesn't solve your problem. I guess the best thing to do is to ask on the gcc development list.
