If there is no difference in speed, the smaller .exe is newer and we don't need no GUI crap. ;)
Is it faster or slower? I didn't compile it... 08/18/2006 06:56 PM 3,364,950 llrnet.exe 04/28/2005 12:50 AM 6,425,088 llrnet.exe I've never had that problem, however, if Lauren wants to hunt down the problem on his end... As Max suggested, he can search lresults.txt in each client's folder and look for "rejected" He's still working on it, and it's not all that bad, so I believe he has just one or two extra clients running by accident in the same folder... He will find it and fix it... it takes time to look through 80+ Quads ... Last fiddled with by IronBits on 2009-01-24 at 14:09 |

Added in the new knpairs you sent me Gary, took me about a minute to go through my proceedure before bringing it back on line.
As soon as it read the knpairs.txt file in, did it's other things, it opened the port and bam! went right up to like 25-30 sockets, stuff flew by the screen, and when it slowed down enough for me to read what was going on, it had come back down to socket 6 and started looking all normal ... This is SCHWEET! I have all the confidence in the world in this server setup now. If you guys were to find an army of llrnet crunchers, you would be fine. I will just run out the queue on the systems running the Free-DC Mercenaries username, and put Brucifer back in them instead. I see that my "paltry" production is really not needed by the Mighty FDC team in order to complete their barbecuing of their challenging team "Raiders of the Lost Prime". LOL So I will complete this effort crunching with my team-mates AMDave and Vaughan of AMD_Users.
![]() This is a good BBQ on the part of everyone and it's good to see the project getting this much help!!! And it is also nice to see all the hard work by the folks behind the scenes in getting the outstanding stats made for the project! Very very impressive!! ![]() |

Top Shelf!
![]() It is quite humbling isn't it. Ahh, to be the master of those cores! Heh. I'll stop day dreaming and get back to coding. 14 hours to go ;) Last fiddled with by AMDave on 2009-01-25 at 06:25 |

We are going to raise a glass and make a toast and then send it out to sea on a burning Viking warship.
j/k I expect it will be loaded up with another batch of work at some point with a higher n-range. Ahem. I shouldn't really be attempting to answer that question. Better get the real answer from Gary. |

We'll keep loading up port 8000 with work all the way to n=500K (in n=10K-15K chunks) with the current k-range of k=1400-2000! We hope some of you guys stick around with many cores to move it quickly up there. Lot's of fun with these well-sieved files! We could always use continued help on port 9000 also. No top-5000 ranges there so still relatively quick tests for n=200K-350K. There's also ports 4000 & 5000 for much higher tests n>615K for fewer but much bigger primes that will stick around on the top-5000 site for a while.
As David says, we now have a veritible "candy store" of different kinds of tests that can be run on the servers...fast, slow, and in between. We could run the next rally on our ports 4000 & 5000 for the range of k=400-800 and n>615K. Almost no previously known primes there. This rally has helped fill in some gaping holes in these ranges. We had to search in and around areas that had already been searched to make sure nothing was missed, hence the 40-45% confirmed primes. Above n=440K, there are extremely few known primes so that is the target I'd like to shoot for over the next few weeks to a month for port 8000. Once there, like ports 4000 & 5000, almost everything will be new primes. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-01-25 at 22:46 |

I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the rally. It really was a Free-DC BBQ. A big congrats to Free-DC for bringing the super firepower to finally take down ROLP!
Also a big thanks to Lennart for coming in for the last 8-12 hours and bringing ROLP up near half of Free-DC's score. ROLP guys, we'll get 'em next time! Maybe we can get Lennart to crunch the whole rally. That will make things interesting! Everyone, feel free to leave your machines crunching. Port 8000 is still loaded with work. I now have some admin stuff to do to finallize things. Petey and perhaps another person or 2 still have at least 3 new primes to submit. I just now got an Email address for Petey and will follow up with him shortly to see if he would like credit for his primes. Thanks again for our most successfully rally ever! ![]() Gary |
