Most of my farm is limited to 8G RAM, so I asked to be let know before the strategy swap. I've closed all my clients and will restart and check after the swap.

Sorry I wasn't up earlier today. Thanks for waiting.

. . .
I had expected to see some new things on the status page, but that's fine. I may still play today if I have a little time.

I like the Attention message of possible server crash. That should be vary helpful.

Yes, I'm sorry, I was not able to finish it yesterday. I was also working with Seth's script; there was something weird I PM'ed him about. Maybe we can get his script working faster. Additionally, we could have both status pages in parallel.

When I restarted the server a moment ago, it displayed on the next update to be down, so this check was working.

No problem! You're heading up the project. (Thank you.) I'll still play, whether it's of use or not. Good to hear you're working with Seth on implementing his script.

Ed-
Any machine that struggles with memory use on strategy 2 can use the -override flag with adjust_strategy 1 (EDIT: 0, not 1- thanks Charybdis!). Your yield will be something like 5% lower, but so what?

adjust-strategy 0, surely? Or have you tested this?

Actually, I'm still seeing 5.5G with strategy 2 on all my larger mem machines, so I'm going to start adding in the 8G machines and see how they respond.

Interesting, I also see 5.5 GB with the new strategy. I do not know why I had more than 7 GB on the lower Q's.

Adjust strategy 2 has a tendency towards selecting regions that need more memory at lower q.

Here's an addition for the script, if it is of interest. It should display the maximum and minimum returns for a single WU. This part should be in the case block:
Code:
      *"Lattice Sieving: Found"*) total=${line}
        range=${line:50}
        rindh=$(echo `expr index "$range" -`)
        rindp=$(echo `expr index "${range:${rindh}}" .`)
        range=${range:${rindh}-${rindp}:${rindp}+${rindp}-1}
        found=${line:50:25}
        d=$(echo `expr index "$found" d`)
        found=${found:${d}+1}
        r=$(echo `expr index "$found" r`)
        found=${found:0:${r}-2}
        if [ $found -gt $maxfound ]
          then
            maxfound=$found
            rangemax=$range
        fi
        if [ $found -lt $minfound ]
          then
            minfound=$found
            rangemin=$range
        fi
        ;;
and, this part should be after the "echo "<h3>$eta</h3>" >>TeamSieve.html" line with everything modified for your version:
Code:
echo "<p>Maximum relations returned from single WU: ${maxfound} ($rangemax)</p>" >>TeamSieve.html
echo "<p>Minimum relations returned from single WU: ${minfound} ($rangemin)</p>" >>TeamSieve.html
