Default Success?...

Have a look at the PrimeNet Top Lucas-Lehmer Producers report (June 4 2009, 1:00 PM).
Rank #60 (user ID stigmv): Attempts:1451, successes: 1.
What is a "success" supposed to mean, in this context, a new mersenne prime?
As far as I could see (s)he is the only one with a "success" recorded.

Maybe someone tested a small, known Mersenne number already tested, and submitted it manually?

That doesn't appear to be the case.

Are we sure this just recently showed up on the Top LL producers page? The server isn't doing anything to hide the exponent, and it was reported a while ago, so I'm thinking maybe the server kept it hidden until the double-check was complete.

I really don´t know. I just happened to spot the "success" in the report, and then checked the rest of it to realize it was the only one. That made me think about it... and consult you all. What do you mean "the server isn´t doing anything to hide the exponent"? We do not have a clue about its value, contrary to what we had in the old server.

We know the userid. The LL results query lets you search for results from a specific userid. It shows up with the 0000000000000__ residue, and if you check the exponent status for that exponent is says "xxxxxxxxxxxx is prime!". Very much not hidden.

Holy crap! That just can't be right! Well, just in case, I copied the exponent.

So, who is doing the doublecheck? Hurry!

Check the date. Unless George et. all completely missed the boat on this one, the official double-check should be done by now.

Well, if they had acted on it quickly enough, the announcement should have come in April itself (a doublecheck would've taken no more than 5 days). So, I'm thinking that they indeed "missed the boat" on this one. And the server is showing it as "Unverified LL".

Whatever. If they have doublechecked it, where is the announcement?

Well, George does tend to be on vacation when these sort of things happen...
