I hate this time of year

October 17th and my train of thought has
been disturbed by fireworks.
I remember fondly bonfire nights, but clocks going back
and worse still this Halloween nonsense US invasion
pisses me off something rotten.

I have some sympathy with you: This weekend it's diwali
then halloween, guy fawkes, build up to Xmas, new year, twelfth night and finally chinese new year at the end of January.

I personally really like fireworks. In fact, I find it unfortunate that consumer fireworks are illegal where I live. I guess it's all a matter of tastes and preferences, right? :)

After you have seen them once there is nothing more to see, mildly pretty for half a second and then gone. They are also noisy, which is the worst part. Both this last Friday and Saturday nights there were fireworks until 3am in my area. I gotta sleep but these things just make noise for no reason except to make noise. Pointless really.

I should get one of my henchmen out there and shoot anyone that even looks like they are about to light a firework. After the first few shots (and a bit of a bloody mess) I think everything would quickly become quiet.

Either that or you'd just be adding shotgun blasts all night to the fireworks!
