Default Primality searches and primality successes

Hello,

should I jump up and down in happiness? Probably not. However I just wanted to check. Prime95 told me that M31 is a prime. How does this contribute to the search? Did I by any chance hit on an important prime.

Thank you for your help.

Below is a screenshot of my finding (it is small in the Worker 1 window).

Did you ask prime95 to test this number manually?

2^31-1 = 2147483647 was first proven to be prime by Euler in 1772.

It appears you have two current GIMPS-range numbers being tested, so I assume you received them from Primenet. So how did the "M31" get involved?

I also remember this.

Default fool of myself!

Either I got the strange error which was pointed out to me or inadvertently asked to search M31. This is possible since I had a Prime95 crash just before and was trying to understand why.

Thank you for your patience!
