Hi Team,
We found a problem from our QAD, they used this tool for stress with "battery mode" only. Until trigger the "Critical battery" then OS will let laptop go into Hibernate. But, the laptop can't entry Hibernate successfully. Try to setting the critical battery level to 80% then run P95 under DC mode, and the system also can't entry Hibernate, Seems not related to battery capacity. Seems running the P95 tool will cause the system can't entry hibernate after system trigger the critical battery event... Also, May I to know it is acceptable test method? Please suggest it. [Reproduce of step by step] 1. Boot to win10 OS. 2. Unplug adapter. 3. Running Prime95 tool 4. Wait for system trigger critical battery level 5. System can't entry Hibernate BTW, the problem have fail rate, it's about 14/40 units. Last fiddled with by Jason on 2018-03-01 at 13:51 |

Did you check the event viewer /log in Windows? Anything out of the ordinary in there?
Are you running the torture test or a specific task/assignment? Is that 14 out of 40 attempts on the same laptop or 40 different laptops? Last fiddled with by VictordeHolland on 2018-03-01 at 16:05 |

1. No any abnormal in event log after we restart the system. (Just show critical battery event)
2. Just our QAD test case, need you suggest whether it's a acceptable test method or not under battery mode only 3. Some platform with different configuration. Last fiddled with by Jason on 2018-03-02 at 02:41 |

It seems more like a Windows 10 problem than a hardware design issue.
Unless, perhaps your laptop is waiting too long to trigger the battery low event -- not giving Windows enough time to hibernate. |

What do you mean by "can't entry Hibernate"?
It errors and then dies? It does nothing? It starts to hibernate but gets stuck at some point and never progresses? Something else? => No any, just turn off panel then stuck, seems system try to go into hibernate but fail. It seems more like a Windows 10 problem than a hardware design issue. Unless, perhaps your laptop is waiting too long to trigger the battery low event -- not giving Windows enough time to hibernate. => I had change the cirtical battery to 80%...still fail. I think the time is enough. Thanks all. |

Check your HDD/SSD for errors. The hibernate file(s) might be on a bad sector.

So when you say "manual" are you also running P95? If not, then try doing it manually with all the same programs running and see what happens. |
