Default Volunteer to test M44 candidate

I've received an email claiming to have found the 44th Mersenne and would like a volunteer to test this claim using prime95. A reasonably fast P4 is required. I'll PM the exponent to the first person that replies.

No need. Wait until we find out if this really is a Mersenne prime.

I'll say this much. It's smaller than I'd expect M44 to be, but that's all I'll say, unless George wants to divulge more.

Was that number originally a manual assignment?

That means, it is smaller than 45219803, which was your guess here?
