Finding a factor will expire the DC workunit and void whatever progress its owner has made.

I can only ask not to work on exponents assigned to others and respect the current reservation system. Of course if you want the system changed you are free to discuss the changes you propose.

If you find a factor and the DC has not yet been assigned, yes, eventually (many years in the future) there may be a PRP-CF. But, that won't happen soon. If you want to do P-1 to speed the DC's do them ahead of the Cat 3 assignments and register them with PrimeNet.

Please do not do P-1 in Cat 0 (and Cat1 in my opinion) since you will be blocking exponents from being assigned to DC and finished:

P-1 should be done before they reach Cat1.

I had reserved 7 tasks and they were, looking at that table, cat 2. My pc returns at this range 4 per day. I will choose then exponents on cat3. Please don’t worry since I’m not making huge reservations, I’m not crazy and stupid. 5 am here so will doublecheck what I said in a few hours, back to sleep for now.

Could you tell me how you were able to register them as P-1? I never succeeded in doing so, and thus I always reserved them as TF.

Just manually connected to the server and pulling them from https://www.mersenne.ca/pm1_worst.php. Just be aware there’s some lag or some bug since I’m manually checking one by one to see if they are really reserved.

Anyway, had to create a new folder for Prime95 to regain access to the manual communication option (my comment from other thread). I will just leave it running PRP-DC-CF instead of the manual P-1. Not worth the effort of manually feed my laptop when client then starts blocking me from accessing my menu, I don't have time to troubleshoot this.

For me using mprime on linux, manually communicating with the server gives error like
Quote:
 [Comm thread Dec 5 18:02] Registering assignment: P-1 M56447197 [Comm thread Dec 5 18:02] PrimeNet error 44: Invalid assignment type [Comm thread Dec 5 18:02] ra: unsupported assignment work type: 3 [Comm thread Dec 5 18:02] Done communicating with server.
My worktodo.txt is something like
Code:
Pminus1=1,2,56447197,-1,1870000,50000000,74
