I will be out of town until Dec. 18th. I am keeping the web pages updated locally while I am gone. They will be uploaded to the server after I get back.

I will be out of town until about Jan. 19th. I am keeping the web pages updated locally while I am gone. They will be uploaded to the server after I get back.

If you see an asterisk "*" next to a base in our recommended thread that indicates a sieve file is available but a link to the file is not shown on the reservations page, PM me and I will send it to you.

I have some exciting news:

The Riesel base 2 2nd conjecture has been added to the project!

This makes the Riesel and Sierp sides at CRUS equal in that regard and gives the project a base 2 effort that it can work on as its own. I have searched it to n=1M and there are 45 k's remaining. I will continue to n=2M. After that I will release it to the project.

Happy future hunting!

CRUS has moved into the #2 spot on the top-5000 site in primes found here:
https://primes.utm.edu/bios/top20.ph...&by=PrimesRank

We now have a new place at the top of the Prime Search Projects list here at Mersenneforum!

Thank you to all of our loyal contributors who have volunteered your time and resources to the project!

For those of you who like to see the statistics progress on the project, I have added additional detail to this page:

I am having problems with my router replacement and associated set up with it. See various notes about the problem here:

The Riesel and Sierp base 3 conjecture threads have been stickied.

With both sides of base 3 on our goals list for this year and me missing reservations or other conversations in them at times, I figured it was long overdo.

I moved the discussion about LLR discrepancies between results and primes to its own thread here:

I have added some useful info. to our main pages. It is an accounting of all k's for each base. For now, I've only done everything for all base 2, 4, and 5 conjectures. I'll work my way up from easiest to most difficult. I'll do many of the proven and smaller bases first along with all of the power-of-2 bases.

It's time to start dumping all of the primes and other info I have stored here for the conjectures out into the world.

There is a link to the files in the far right column of the four main conjecture pages. They have a prefix of "all-ks". Here is some info. about them:

1. All k's are accounted for including trivial k's with the exception of odd k's on odd bases. I wanted everything to be easily seen as complete without making the files overly big for odd bases.

2. For conjectures that specifically restrict which k's are searched such as R2 odd & even n and S2 odd & even n as well as 2nd conjectures where only k's > the 1st conjecture are considered, only k's applicable to the base are shown.

3. The k-value will have the n-value that is prime next to it. There are some abbreviations in the prime column if a prime is not applicable or not possible for the k:

TRIV = k has 1 trivial factor for all n's.
ALG = k has partial or full algebraic factors to make a full covering set.
GFN = k is a Generalized Fermat number and is not considered in the search.
MOB = k is a multiple of the base (b) where k-1 (Riesel) or k+1 (Sierp) is composite. These k's (will) have the same prime as k / b.
REM = k is remaining.

This has been an interesting exercise that has forced me to fill in some holes in primes that we didn't have. In many of the above bases, I had to do a new search to n=100K using our starting bases script, which effectively did a double-check (perhaps a triple or quadruple check) on those bases that were mostly done outside of CRUS before CRUS started. That was easier than searching around for many small primes on the various projects and efforts. I then filled in the remaining primes with postings in this forum, the Prime Wiki, or the top-5000 site and then balanced the k's remaining with what is known.

For reference, attached is the file for the Sierp base 2 conjecture that is being worked on by PrimeGrid.
