No addition or correction from our side.
The pirates decided for the first move (somehow..., Ben did not appear yet to express his vote, I may ask here if he has any problems accessing the "Move 1" thread?), but I remember that it was a request that the game does not start till Aug 4th or so? Anyhow, I will post our first move, trying to speedup the things, and I believe that no Pirate will object if we let you think to about Aug 11, assuming you are not around right now (I however suspect that you will reply in the next 2-3 days, and we can indeed speed up the game).

So, the Pirates decided that we are gentlemen this time and let you revenge by playing sicilian (and maybe win? only if you play right, hehe).

Our first move: 1.e4

(as opposed to being anti-gentlemen and playing anti-sicilian, 1.c4 as some Pirate joked during our secret meeting, hehe)

You seem to have anticipated us correctly, LaurV.

Our move is indeed:

It wasn't anticipation, all Pirates decided that we have to be gentlemen, and I hope you will remember this and let us do two moves in a row when we will be on the edge of the cliff...

As of 2:05 PM GMT today, white has exceeded his time limit and the game should be considered forfeited to black.

This occurred several times in the previous game, the first time the fault of the Toxic Geckos, and it was handled in a friendly fashion with no forfeiture. I personally see no reason to differ from that approach now.

But is everything okay with you, Pirates? If there are practical difficulties with making your move this time, allowances can be made. (I'm speaking for myself, but I don't believe my team-mates will disagree with this.)

The rules are presumed to be the same as in the last game: the time deadline is soft. However, around the deadline, Pirates are of course expected to provide some reasonable explanation (e.g. 'the school is starting', 'two members are on a week-long hike in the mountains' or whatnot) and a fair estimate when the move will be posted. Ok?

Yeah, I was tugging everyone's chain here. I figured the time rule was soft. After all, it's just a friendly game.
