By the speed you test a 3k chunk I think it is better you to ask for a 50k or even more chunk file to test. What is more easy for you? Within a week I will be at full speed for 6th drive and I prefer to crunch a month worth rather than reserving each two or three days work.

Yeah, I've been taking smaller chunks since my resources are temporary and are unpredictable (1/2 are going away next week). If things stabilize I'll take bigger chunks.
