Sieving that range of S66 to a more appropriate depth with srsieve2cl would take weeks. I don't have resources available at this time to do that.
That range of R66 does not require additional sieving. I made my suggestion because less time would be wasted PRP testing. |

S66 sieving was done in March 2017 likely before we had srsieve2.
In the last 1-2 years, I went back through and attempted to find most of the files that were under-sieved. I then either marked them as such or sent them to Yoyo if they had < ~30 k's remaining. Unfortunately with several hundred sieve files out there at any one point, I had no easy way to identify by sight whether the huge-conjectures base's sieve files needed to be sieved further so I did not look at them. I just figured people would verify if they needed more sieving before beginning testing. Mark, SRBase has often tested with under-sieved files on bases with 100s or more k's remaining. Mainly up to about 3 years ago, they tested n=25K-100K ranges on bases with < 400 k's remaining. Often the sieves were intended as "starter" sieves only sieved to ~1e11 to 1e12 that I knew likely needed sieving to ~5e12 or further at the time. At that time, there were a couple of people that were doing fast sieves on things to get something started. I made Reb aware of it but it didn't concern him. They ran through them so quickly that it would not have been worth it for me or anyone else to try to sieve them further ahead of time. With the S66 files sieved for n=25K-100K, after they test S66 for n=25K-50K and I take care of removing the k's with primes from the files and repost them on the page, perhaps we can look into sieving the remaining n=50K-100K more deeply. But at this point, it would likely take more personal time for us to sieve them more deeply than it would take for Reb to have SRBase test them as is despite the additional resources used. |

Update: nearly 2M tests per core, maybe done in 6 days, running all at once but could get some issues with the limitations of txt filesize (>2GB), we will see... Last fiddled with by rebirther on 2023-03-20 at 08:48 |
