It seems primenet has classified some of my benchmarks as over-clocks when they shouldn't be. The ones in question are "Intel Core2 Quad @ 2.40GHz" and the clocks are either 2400 exactly or one 2405 which is just a slight clock inaccuracy, not an over-clock. They are model q6600 even tho the cpuid doesn't show it in these.
How is Primenet defining and classifying over-clocking? Has it changed? |

Somewhere on the benchmarks page for that processor it should tell you the standard clock speed. This must be input by a user (though I pre-initialized many of the Intel CPUs using the CPU Brand string).
I can't recall the exact over/under-clocked threshold, but I think it is +/- 5 or 10%. |

Ah ha! After some more clicking I found:
Model Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz Stock Speed 0 MHz Features Prefetch,SSE,SSE2 L1 Cache 32 KB L2 Cache 4096 KB Seems like the stock speed could be automatically extracted from the cpuid string when it is present? Ok, I figured out how to set it correctly myself. thanks anyway. Last fiddled with by lfm on 2009-09-05 at 21:45 |

Actually the exclusion of OC values from the benchmarks makes no sense. My AMD Athlon 64 3700 + "San Diego" stock speed 2.2 GHz, has been running 3 years stable at 2.5 Ghz (with better memory even at 2.7 GHz). My Phenom X4 955 BE runs without increasing the Vcore voltage at 3.7 Ghz stable.

Same here I have benchmarked 8 of my CPUs ... none have ever been over clocked, yet only 5 show up with "Exclude Under/Over Clock"
The 3 that don't show up are: 2 core2 Duos 2.33 vs 2.327 PIV 2.80 vs 2.793 |
