Default Guess I messed up

Hi there,
a few weeks ago I completed the check on M100379551 but moved the .residues file after submitting the result. So my results.txt shows

Quote:
[Sun Oct 25 19:59:58 2020]
MD5 error reading PRP proof interim residues file.
[Sun Oct 25 20:05:01 2020]
MD5 error reading PRP proof interim residues file.
Proof generation failed.
Question is, can I still generate that *.proof file somehow? It'd be shameful to have to run that thing again. (And yes, I still have the .residues file - just moved to the archive directory before the job was completed. Oops, guess I was a litte fast there... :D)

The results.json.txt has there:
Quote:
[Sun Oct 25 20:05:01 2020]
{"status":"C", "exponent":100379551, "worktype":"PRP-3", "res64":"...."

Thanks

Do you also have one of the previous temporary save files (like .bu to .bu4) for the exponent in the root directory? If so: Try to finish the calculation with the penultimate savefile and the .residue file.

to Prime95: Otherwise you should change the software so that the savefiles are only deleted if the .proof file have been successfully generated.

I'm afraid they were removed when finishing the exponent. All I have left is the .residues file and the results-file entries. But the residues (res64/2048) will hardly be sufficient to generate the proof file.

So this happened again. My suspicion is the following: I changed the "directory to hold large temporary files" after getting the assignment, so while the .residues file was still in the main directory the program checked ONLY the new directory and did not find the file there, thus could not compile the .proof file. This could easily be fixed by looking at both places, the set one and the main directory, right? Just another line of code.

Edit: This time I still had a backup of the .bu file and the workload.txt so I'm running the last 1.6% of the PRP again for several hours. Maybe the server accepts the proof file, maybe not. I however can't do anything else here.

I have the .residues and .proof files generated in the separate proof directory. It is best not to change these directories while you have assignments in worktodo.txt for which savefiles have already been created. My Settings for prime95: see attachment

OK, no idea whats wrong there. It just again fails to generate the darn file, why ever.

[Dec 17 12:45] MD5 error reading PRP proof interim residues file.
[Dec 17 12:45] Proof generation failed.
[Dec 17 12:45] M109426307 is not prime. RES64: 96394DEF61D93***. Wh4: FDB088FF,61590676,00000000

(note: blanked out the last 3 digits of the residual)

Whatever, done there. I can't do more to fix it I guess, so I'll just continue with the next one. If that should also fail, I'll stop doing PRP and go back to any of the other jobs like DC or TF. Pretty annoying tbh.
