Has anybody ever self-compiled Prime95 from source, esp. v26, Windows? If so, how? I know from source code that there is a Visual Studio project file. Is this theoretically possible? I know there shall be code missing for check string generation...
Scenario would be to create some useful custom code for Prime95 and share it. Does this make sense as it isn't open source? I'm just thinking of tinkering a bit in the GUI, no promise/threat to do it. |

It is practically possible, viz. I've built it. The only thing I changed was the base for the PRP-test (and another line around it), because the numbers to be tested were the Eisenstein Mersenne norms (base 3 is no good for them). All you need is a bit of tinkering and some dlls from the internet (or try disabling the darned libcurl and its dependencies).
