I suppose these other milestones "matter" to them, but maybe not to the raging masses.

YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary???

On the numbers worth reporting thread, the Fermat factor page has

Quote:
News Flash!
Curtis Cooper, the co-discoverer of the two largest known
Mersenne primes, has been lucky again in discovering the
second largest known prime factor of a Fermat number.
On April 17, 2007 he found that
7 . 2^2167800 + 1 divides F2167797.
Local news is that new condor user stats are in (of less interest,
for sure), and if I heard correctly show me having spent 7M cpuhours
this year --- that would be ecm only; nfsnet runs on (two) separate
networks. -Bruce

At least in our anthropocentric conception of the world.
What does it matter to 99.9999999999999999% of the universe if a few people, on a ridiculous little planet that will evaporate in some years, are able to write down a chain of symbols that represents in some way a prime number a little more explicitely (however this might be defined) than other writings (as e.g. min{ p prime, p>10^(10^7-1) }) ?

It looks I am late to announce that Team Prime Rib has crossed 100,000 total CPU years; the starting post of this thread announced Curtis Cooper crossing that milestone. Based on the statistics from the TPR website, TPR completed 4370.74 CPU years in the last 90 days, an average of about 48.56 CPU years per day. Extrapolating this figure gives the estimate that TPR reached 100,000 total CPU years 132.78 days ago, roughly August 14, 2007. If anyone has a more accurate time for when TPR reached this milestone, feel free to post it here.

The 100,000 LL CPU years milestone is probably very near.

Code:
Mersenne PrimeNet Server 4.0 (Build 4.0.101)

Sorry, I forgot about tracking TPR's progress towards 100K CPU years.

That doesn't answer the question of when TPR reached 100K CPU years total. Can you go back 6450 CPU years?

We don't count factoring in the 100,000 year total. We just thought it would be fun to count down the work until TPR passes the 100,000 year LL mark. We'll keep it updated until then.

Sorry Reboot_It, if you had only waited a little longer...

The next test to finish will be the clincher.

Reboot_It has prevailed.

I don't expect Curtis Cooper and Team Prime Rib to have company any time soon. ahmerali is still between 38K and 39K.

The (not so hourly) Top Producers Report has finally updated.

Code:
Mersenne PrimeNet Server 4.0 (Build 4.0.101)
Top Producers Report 26 Dec 2007 19:00 (Dec 26 2007 11:00AM Pacific)

This report is updated every 60 minutes

Rank Account ID LL P90* Exponents Fact.P90 Exponents P90 CPU
CPU yrs LL Tested CPU yrs* w/ Factor hrs/day
------ -------------- ------- --------- -------- --------- --------
    1. curtisc 175020 45546 758.933 1226 444907.9
    2. Team_Prime_Rib 100018 66938 6492.46 7372 247487.8
This may not be the first report that shows TPR with more than 100,000 CPU years (sorry, I waited until 3 am and it still didn't update).
