Thumbs up Major overhaul of the DB

For those who don't read the Factoring forum, Syd has done a revamp of the DB, and he says it should have removed most errors, including the "57" bug. The "Quick ECM" button has changed to a magnifying glass on the left of the number. Each time you click it, larger amounts of ECM are done than on the previous click.
I hope this leads to more activity here.

The new DB is at factordb.com/new/index.php (also available via a link at the top of the page).

Nice!

Just a possible problem which I have experienced yesternight:

Has anyone tried to submit a part of an .elf file in the "report factors" subpage? I had the impression that the factors had not arrived in the DB. (or maybe there is something wrong on my side (browser? Cookies? Javascript?), or I have not been patient enough?)

When I reported the factors one by one (when the DB displays the last 20 lines of the sequence, I clicked the last (unfactored) composite and then entered a factor into the "report factor" box below), it worked fine.

BTW: clickable link to the new DB: http://factordb.com/new/index.php

from what i understand, there is a large queue of 'reported factor' that need checking. so it may take a while.
see status page :

Core 2 Q6700, 1 core Processing insert queue

I answered there, too!

Short; He said, this will be done later. Same with display/download Seqs as text-only!

I noticed the same problem(?) but I am using the first format:
Factor tables: <composite> = <factor1> * <factor2> * ...

I tried checking "Insert in background" and also not.

I remember early on there was a problem with reporting factors on the individual composite page and that was fixed in a matter of minutes - or less.
Found the old post here.

Hopefully it is just an oversight/typo/etc. and as soon as Syd is aware of it it will be corrected very quickly.
