Default Serious help needed with Linux...

Hi, I need some serious help getting LLR to run in Linux in the next 3 hours before I go out of town for a week. I've got 5 quads waiting and I can't figure out how to get it running.

I've gone so far as to get the ia32* libraries installed in Synaptic Package Manager. I've downloaded the dynamic LLR version from Jean's site.

Anon has instructed me to now go to the command prompt and type "./llr -m" (without the quotes) and I'm getting a "permission denied" error.

I'm stuck and need help quickly or 5 quads will sit idle for 8 days.

Edit: I am in the correct subfolder where the llr program and readme file are located when trying the ./llr command.

Thanks,
Gary

perhaps you need to make the file executable by typing "chmod +x llr"

ROCK ON!! That did it! Thanks for helping.

It isn't running yet but I got the menu that I'm supposed to. I'll post here if I encounter any more problems.

Thanks again,
Gary

The llr371clinux.zip file ought to have an executable llr so newbie Linux users won't get stumped like this.

This forum is awesome! Everyone is so helpful!

I also got a PM from Lennert about this suggesting something even more straight forward.

I got one quad running full bore now. I'll try Lennert's suggestion on the others.

Thanks everyone!

Gary,

Next step is to overclock those quad-core machines and add a new cooler, I suggest the "Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7".

Naw, I'll just buy more quads if I need more computing power.

The cooling freezer may be a good investment at some point though.
