You must use PRP client 2.4.7 (or an older PRP client if it works) available here.
Please do not use another more recent client, as it will probably hang. We will sympathize with you, but you have been warned. Speaking of warnings, use only machines you own, or have written permision to use. We will not be responsible if you get into trouble. This is always true, but needs to be emphasized now and again. We will not sympathize with you if you break this rule. You must act responsibly. The primality program LLR is CPU intensive as is PFGW. You may force PRP to use either one, by removing or renaming the other. The newest LLR is available here (use cLLR for Windows). The newest PFGW is available here. These programs will make your machine run hot. You should probably use a program to monitor temperatures and shut down if your machine gets too hot. You probably should not use a laptop or all-in-one machine. Please feel free to post any other warnings that I have forgotten. The Sierpinski server is Code:

Hopefully, everyone knows that they can use the latest LLR (cLLR in Windows) and PFGW programs with the 2.4.7 PRP client.
If not, "then Attention!" you may, and should use the latest releases of LLR and PFGW with the 2.4.7 PRP client. |

We sill be shutting down the SR5 PRPnet 2.4.7 Server by this weekend. Please do not start any more work on this server. At the moment, only LTD and I have pending results. As soon as our results are returned, the server will shut down.
Please use the 3.3.6 server instead: server=sr5:100:1:prime2u.com:7171 This is being done to make the switch to a new server installation easier. The switch is planned for the week of 2010-Dec-13. It will probably not start on the 13th, since LTD will be recovering from his birthday party the night before. ![]() When the new installation comes online, we will have PRPnet 4.0.3 servers available. There will be one for Sierpinski Base 5 and one for Riesel Base 5. |

1) one set of stats 2) you can get both up to the same n and keep them there otherwise one side will trail the other depending upon how clients divvy up the work 3) easier maintenance 4) clients only need to configure one server Last fiddled with by rogue on 2010-11-18 at 01:02 |

LTD has spoken, there will be a combined server.
See http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthr...787#post237787 for the entire announcement. Plan on a three day outage. |

I need to know one thing. Is it quicker to run LLR on base 5 (llrnet server) or pfgw64 (prpnet server)? I made this test under base 2 and I didn't notice any speed difference.
Thank you in advance. |
