Documentation on the [worker #] section of local.

Hi all,

In version 24 we set up an instance of prime95 for each core of our workstations. We identified each core through a naming convention of "workstation name - 00, 01, 02, 03" for our 4 core processors during prime95 installation. I am trying to find any documentation for the local.txt in file that would allow us to do this again in v25. I think it belongs in the [worker #] section of local.txt but I can't find any documentation on that section. Is there any syntax we should be using to configure our workstation so each cpu core is uniquely identified?

Any help would be appreciated.

Affinity=0

[Worker #2]
Affinity=1

[Worker #3]
Affinity=2

[Worker #4]
Affinity=3

Or work through the "Test" / "Workers windows" menu...

Doesn't that just set the cores affinity to a specific processor. I would like to name each processor.

The core numbers show up in your v5 reports. There is a field for that.

Is it possible to set Affinity for multithreading processing? For example,. “set 3 threads in one worker on logical CPU 0,3 and 5”?

I try to put “Affinity=0,3,5”, but this does not work.

Question raised because on one 2xQuadCore (L5420) machine I have best performance with V24 (four instances) on cores 0,3,4 and 6, any other combination degrade performance for more than 30%.
