Default Big changes in yahoo groups (almost defunct)

Just learned today: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html

"What features will go away?"
short answer: basically everything. They'll delete all messages/files. (maybe that average 4Kb/email's storage was too large?)

This is ps poor of Yahoo!. For example, there are some very good, well-crafted GP scripts -eg CHG -- for primaity proofs in primenumbers/files. We had better get in there sharp and rescue them before they go down the plug hole.

Here they are from primeform/file until we find a good home for them:
Attached Files
File Type: txt _CHG.GP.txt (21.1 KB, 362 views)
File Type: txt KonPom.gp.txt (896 Bytes, 299 views)

This is just another example of relying on the big boys with their "SAAS"-type/web-based snake oil.

An (easy?) solution would be to go to groups.io, a complete successful example is at https://groups.io/g/AZsPCs , where as I can see they have moved all yahoo stuffs: all old messages and files. There is even a page for transfer: https://groups.io/static/transfer .
Here a forum/group owner could do what Al Zimmermann has done.
And you have time for this until december 14.

from Al's posts for his own group:
"I have created a group for us at groups.io. Within the next week I will copy all content (posts, files, etc.) and accounts from Yahoo to the new group. I will then shut down this Yahoo group.
I will send out a message from the new group after the contest and accounts have been copied.
Please do not create you own account for the new group. One will be automatically created for you."

and

"I'm new to groups.io and, since my last post, I've learned a little more about their process for copying a group from Yahoo.
They say that if you already have a groups.io account, they will not create a new one."

ps. If you are not admin/creator of both forums (yahoo and at goups.io) then it is close to a pointless effort (I've seen a *great* example for this rush).

Prof. Chris Caldwell has offered up Yahoo! primenumbers group for administration and moderation. It is a useful comms channel for news about prime numbers and would be a pity to lose it. Is anybody here willing and capable of stepping up to the plate?
