So, you've seen The Matrix, and now how it's being created.

Doesn't Eve Online already meet some of the criteria for a metaverse?
A link to wikipedia is below for those unfamilair with it, but in a nutshell: it is a MMORPG that has around 500,000 players and you can visit over 7,800 star systems in your starship competing for resources and engaging in battles. The play is incredibly complex; you should read the article for that. The graphics are impressive as several Youtube videos shows, but it does not employ VR. I have not gotten into it much, but it looks like you could get "lost" in it and spend your life there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_Online The youtube trailer gives a good idea what it's all about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPFII3ozSHI Last fiddled with by tServo on 2022-01-27 at 03:02 Reason: add trailer link |

Facebook might as well have called their company "Hades" if people understood what the metaverse refers to.

Go figure! ![]() My only guess is that Russia is now on a different circle of hell, incompatible with Meta's circle. |
