Hi,
LLR Version 3.8.2 using the last version 26.2 of the gwnum library is now available as a development version. The source code of the precedent version 3.8.1 can be compiled and linked with the new gwnum library without any problem, so, I just made very slight appearance updates on it, and no change on the logic. You may find the compressed binaries and source at this address : http://jpenne.free.fr/Development/ As usual, I need your help to build the MacIntel binary... Thanks Jean. The use of the new GWNUM gives a nice speedup to the software. I noticed though that the binary for 3.8.1 went from 4.5MB to 25MB, what happened there, is the new gwnum really that huge?

Yes. There are many more FFT sizes and architectures supported by gwnum v26.

While building gwnum.lib for the Windows platforms, I ommited the /Op option...
As I am using VC6.0, this option is necessary to avoid some round off errors on primality tests of not-base-two numbers. This is now fixed, but you must download again the files : "cllr382dev.zip" and/or "llr382dev.zip" in order to have up-to-date Windows binaries. Indeed, I also updated the source in "llr382devsrc.zip" accordingly. Sorry for this drawback and Best Regards, Jean |

See the known bugs list, http://www.mersenneforum.org/showpos...81&postcount=2 , to see if this version is right for you. Gwnum 26.3 will be available within a week or two.

Here are some total times for Wagstaff tests on K10 computers:
LLR 3.8.1 -- 43011.812 seconds LLR 3.8.2 -- 33774.899 seconds speed increase 27.34% LLR 3.8.1 -- 48203.240 seconds LLR 3.8.2 -- 38311.809 seconds speed increase 25.81% Thanks George and Jean ![]() |

Is there any plans for a 64-bit LLR? According to
pfgw is expected to get some improvement from this with v26.2. Another speedup if available would be great. |
