Could you please look a the PrimeNet Most Recent Results web page. This page appears to be the only one that doesn't have horizontal lines separating the exponent entries. Thanks.

This is done. I mentioned to James that I'm not sure what my reasoning was at the time for using the compact table there, but I'm sure I had one.
My best guess was it had something to do with me trying to make the tables look good across different browsers of the time which, unfortunately, meant trying to make it pretty with Internet Explorer... something we thankfully no longer have to worry about. There's another big aspect of the site that I hope to change soon, and that's the fixed width of 1000 px it uses. We're going to switch it to 1200px wide. Our stats from Google Analytics show that a large majority (90%+) of visits come from browser windows that exceed 1200 pixels wide, and the ones that aren't that wide are smaller than the current 1000px so it won't affect them any more than it does now (phones in portrait mode, for example). I've tested out the changes and it looks pretty good... it's nice having more horizontal pixels on some of those tables that are already kind of crowded. I'd love to make the width more dynamic and responsive, but a while back I tried that and found that the tables are mostly unusable below certain widths, and if the width were too wide (I tried it on my 4K monitor) it's equally hard to work with... it's possible to have it be too wide. ![]() |

There's a thing known as "tech debt". Only the best can actually manage it. IMO: "Manage now. Only people who don't know how things work press the reset button. |

A minor point for page mersenne.org/cpus/: columns "Expected" and "Last updated" are no longer populated.
TIA EDIT: wow, that was fast... thanks, James Last fiddled with by ric on 2023-01-22 at 13:41 Reason: closed point |

There is no attachment option in private messages. Why?
