 2005-06-12, 20:55 #1 jossch   146816 Posts LL testing 63.60% completed, what will it say? After a couple of months computing I'm already at 63.60% LL testing. But what will this mean? Does this indicate that the probability finding the prime becomes bigger and bigger? Or do I have just to wait for the last iteration and pray that the residue is zero? Is it possible that LL testing finishes half time because some factor is found? I hope someone knows these answers.

It means you're 63.60% done the LL test.

No. The residue at 99.99% tells you absolutely nothing about whether the number is prime or not. You must wait until the test finishes.

Yes

No. The LL test does not search for factors. It uses a totally different method.
