2250 error

I am trying mprime on a Ubuntu 6.06 64 bit on an Athlon 64 CPU. When I run the program, whit the primenet.ini file with Debug=1 I get:

$ ./mprime -d
Mersenne number primality test program version 24.14
Contacting PrimeNet Server.
host = mersenne.org, port = 80
PrimeNet: unknown host:
ERROR 2250: Server unavailable
The FAQ at http://www.mersenne.org/ips/faq.html may have more information.
Will try contacting server again in 60 minutes.

but:

$ telnet mersenne.org 80
Trying 64.66.6.250...
Connected to mersenne.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

What's the problem? I think I am not behind a firewall.

We didn't choose the title of the "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!" thread randomly, you know. Suggest you click that and search for "2250".

In the "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" thread the entry for error 2250 does not have a valid link - no thread specified error.
